The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) was formed in 1983 to represent the whole of the industry, from manufacturing, distribution and rental trades to associate businesses and users of all forms of powered access equipment. We are the most influential body of our kind, and have members from over 20 countries worldwide.

Over the years, IPAF has been responsible for many of the safety initiatives, which govern operation, and we have been key players in the formation of the relevant European legislation. Today IPAF operates through a number of committees covering Hirers (Powered Access Interest Group : IPAF/CPA), Manufacturers (Manufacturers' Technical Committee), Mast Climbing and Training. These committees are made up of elected members and are shaping the policy, rules and regulations, which affect your working practices.

Our activities are delegated to four specialist Sub-Committees, which meet regularly in convenient locations where Members with particular interests in each Committee's work, attend and participate. All Committees report back to regular meetings of the Federation Council where action, as appropriate, is approved and implemented.
